Letter to Santa...and a reply!

My first Christmas in Canada is approaching and I want it to be the best. So I decided to e-mail to Santa Clause, as it was encouraged in Canada Post website and at the post office, when I was sending parcels off to home.

I wrote the letter and explained my situation and everything and for my great surprise, I got a reply back immediately confirming, that my letter to Santa has been received and it may take a little for Santa to get back to me.

After a little while I got the nice and long reply from Santa itself :) Yayyy!!! Isn't that ta great boost for me!

Black Friday!

I am sure that by now, even all Estonians know what does Black Friday means?
Basically ALL stores give huge discounts for their customers and they earn massive profits before when the Christmas shopping rally starts.

Occupy Toronto

I happened to be in Toronto when the occupy movement made its way over to many bigger cities around the world. Of course Toronto was no exception, so the main area for it was St. James Park in downtown Toronto. I happened to pass this by on one nice Sunday and a lot was happening - people were present in heaps, tents were up, music was played, speeches were held and yeah, it was very inspiring. Me and my friend were thinking of staying over there in a tent ourselves, but since we didn't have a nice tent and it was cold, we dropped the idea.

Phone madness

Didn't have time to check my phone during an exciting night, so when I got home and checked it, it was pretty busy :)

Nuit Blanche

My greatest Toronto art experience happened while participating at Nuit Blanche. This is sunset to sunrise a

 free all-night contemporary art event throughout Toronto.

My starting point was Bata Shoe Museum at Bloor Street West. Stuff already happened outside. Next post will reveal the inside.

Baltic Deli

In Kingston, ON I noticed the first place which is referring to my corner of the world. So they had a Baltic Deli there with all kinds of Baltic delicatessen. Check the window display to find out more.

Elections

 

I was surprised to see on my first real day in my new home for a 1,5 months that a Liberal candidate David Remington paid a visit to my hosts household. I was lucky enough to get these snaps of his visit and what he brought and what happened to the billboards.

Is this is how it is going down in Canada in smaller places?

Welcome to Ford City

Since Windsor is so close to Detroit, USA many its plantations were located in Windsor as well. You can see the signs of referring to the Ford City. It is not hard to imagine what is going on there as well - emptiness. Houses have been left behind and questionable people walking around, so it is not a pretty view. I was able to visit one of such buildings as pictured above. In the next post.

Virginianne

Our host in Windsor, Virginianne is a great artist, dog lover and loves to have fun.

She is an only person who has just one name in her passport. Yup.

Northern Dancer

Little I knew that the host, artist Virginianne, is so famous and known. She had made a bronze sculpture of a horse called Northern Dancer to The Queen Mother and it was delivered to her and a thank you note was sent to her.
