About
This blog is by an Estonian discovering her childhood dream country Canada. Based in Toronto, but sometimes traveling. Looking for an Estonian connection in the far away country and giving away tips about what to see, what to do, what to experience. Hence the name of the blog: Toronto. Canada. Estonia.

I sent it, I made it!
I sent them a small package of puffed corn and other things, they still had the package left. So I made them my favorite Kass Arturr's cake. It takes three ingredients - puffed corn, toffee candies and some butter.

Elves!
Oh boy. I got directions to some place from Santa to pick up something. It was a very windy and cold day and I cycled down to downtown to take care of the request. Great was my surprise when I realized that a dozen muffins were put on my hands. What a huge box, and I came with bike! Oh boy again. I just had to put the box to my bag, but when I got home this had happened - so sad! But no matter to that - all got eaten and it took us weeks! Thank you elves :)
By the way these are the best cupcakes in town - Prarie Girl makes them! I recommend them highly!

Visit to a former host family
I gave a visit to my second great host family in Toronto, Donna and her family. It was great to see each other again and share stories and break the bread. Therefore here are some good food shots of the vegetarian dinner and some deserts afterwards. You can see pecan pie there, my favorite and Estonian own kringel :)

Caldense Bakery & Pastries
There is a active and quite popular bakery in Eglinton West called Caldense Bakery. They offer a variety of pastry and cakes on site and to go. This is where the lovely piece of this cake is coming from. It was amazing.

Thanksgiving Dinner
This is the meal of the day - the Thanksgiving Dinner and a dessert, which was a whip-cream topped pumpkin pie. Of course. All the vegetables were heavenly and the red peppers real spicy. Cake I am not going to mention.

Birthday cake
Host mom had baked a nice moist carrot cake for me. She even put a little titu on top of the cake, as she knows I adore them. Nice candles and nice singing. Thank you my dear Canadian Family for that experience!

Happy birthday..................me!
Well, as I said the food has been great, then the desserts are even better. Had nice warmed waffles which my host had made me with maple syrup on top and butter, too. Sweet and hot cup of hot chocolate on a side. The best breakfast on your birthday, yeah?

Dessert 5
Canada was the country where I came across the world-famous Pecan Pie. I enjoyed one mini one in a park near Parliament Hill, what you can see in the far background. Mmm-mmmm. You could say that this pie is a tradition to many Canadians and memory from childhood.
If you do not know what the heck is Pecan Pie, then check out this quick and easy recipe for it and then you can't blame me if you are hooked ;)
In Estonia Pecan nuts are a rarity and there is not even a correct name for those, as they are just called pekaani pähklid.

Dessert 4
Here is another wonderful Canadian dessert - chocolate cake, but I must say, though it looked amazing, it wasn't sweet enough for me :P

Dessert 2
Not lately I posted my first example of Canadian desserts, here is another. A new taste to me: strawberry shortcake. Yummy cream, strawberries and dough.

Dessert 1
I have a gut feeling that there are some great sweet discoveries for me out there in Canada. Here is an example of my first delight.
