I know Riti from the kitchen. She helped me to mend my jacket and created a little pocket there, which I still cherich a lot even on this day. She is a fast chef and can do excellent multi-tasking. She had just returned back from Cuba, as you can tell by the tan :)

Estonian Christmas party!

I was asked to take photos in an Estonian Christmas party last Saturday in Estonian House! Whohoo! Looks great, doesn't it?

Christmas dinner in Estonian House by Estonian House Cafe vol.1

I had a chance to take photos at an interesting event thrown by Estonian House Cafe. Its participants were mostly elderly Estonian descendants. They bought the entrance which allowed them to eat the best Estonian Christmas foods and listen to a singer who had come from Estonia, just for this event. Erich Krieger is quite famous singer in Estonia. I had a chance to meet him and even get his autograph. I will show that in some other post.

Book launch: Toronto Estonian House Art Committee 25th Anniversary Album

Toronto Estonian House Art Committee has been doing great job for a long time. This time I was able to be a part of their work. I helped the publisher to take photos of the art pieces in Estonian House for the book launched today.

Remembrance Day

It is that time again to wear the poppies out and proud to celebrate the Remembrance Day again. This is a great way to make the poppy stay on your shirt nice and safe. I have told earlier that during these few weeks of November you can find many of these on the streets, I gathered quite a few myself while cycling.

Korbid

These sweet pies are called korbid, which mainly consist of yeast dough and sweet cream cheese, egg and sugar mixture. They are usually different in shape. Google korp and you will find out more.

Mulgid ordered these for their event, as they really love that pastry!

Eesti Mulkide Selts Torontos 35

Well, there is no decent way to translate the title of this post. Mulk is a person who was born in a particular county in the middle of Estonia called Viljandimaa. There was once an organization uniting all those people born there, but now living in Toronto. I was asked to take photos at their last event, as they were shutting the organization, as there were no new members and the old are too old to run it. I chose the best portraits out of all the photos I took. One more surprise to come in next post ;)
